What changed, plainly.

1.3.1 — new pricing, said plainly

• Pro is now $19.99/year, with a launch offer: $9.99 for your first year, applied automatically at checkout. The checkout page states the renewal price before you pay, and Stripe emails you before any renewal.
• Anyone who already subscribed at $9.99/year keeps that price at renewal unless we say otherwise first — existing subscribers were not moved to the new price.
• In-app copy updated to match. Nothing else changed.

1.3 — updates arrive on their own

• Auto-updates: DiskBroom now checks for new versions and offers them in place — no more manual re-downloading. Powered by Sparkle, the standard open-source update framework for Mac apps.
• This adds the second (and previously promised) kind of network request: an update check that sends only the app version and macOS version. The privacy policy disclosed this in advance; nothing else changed.
• Automatic checking is on by default and is a real preference: turn it off in Settings, or check manually via DiskBroom → Check for Updates.
• Updates are cryptographically signed; the app installs only updates published by us.
• Note: if you're on 1.2.0, that version predates the updater — download 1.3.0 once from this site, and every version after arrives on its own.

1.2 — Pro goes on sale

• DiskBroom Pro is purchasable: $9.99/year through Stripe as merchant of record. Your license key appears the moment payment completes; paste it in Plan → Activate. Works on up to 2 Macs.
• Every new install still starts with two full-Pro cleans free, then the free tier cleans your two chosen categories forever.
• License checks are the app's only network traffic — activation and a periodic validation, exactly as the privacy policy discloses. Still no analytics, no scan data, nothing else.
• Licenses survive reinstalls (stored in your Keychain), keep working up to 7 days offline, and lapse gracefully back to the free tier — never a lockout.
• Manage or cancel your subscription anytime via the subscription portal — sign in with your purchase email, no account needed.

1.1 — the Orchard release

• New name: Storage Cleaner is now DiskBroom.
• Complete visual redesign: warm paper palette, calmer typography, and the circle / triangle / diamond risk shapes replacing colored badges.
• New summary hero card showing reclaimable space at a glance.
• Restructured sidebar and item rows for faster scanning of results.
• Same safety model as always: everything to the Trash, nothing without asking.

1.0 beta — first release

• One-click scan of macOS cache and temp hotspots, sized concurrently, biggest first, with live free-space readout.
• Per-app breakdown of ~/Library/Caches — see exactly which app is the hog.
• Workload-aware catalog: Xcode, npm, cargo, Gradle and other developer caches; Hugging Face, Ollama and LM Studio model caches; Adobe and DaVinci Resolve media caches.
• Risk rating on every item, with a "Select All Safe" shortcut.
• Trash-first cleaning — recoverable by default, with extra warnings on review-first items.
• Reveal in Finder, search and filters, accurate on-disk sizes.

Known limitations, honestly

• Apple Silicon only for now — Intel builds are planned.
• Not yet notarized: Gatekeeper shows a one-time warning (right-click → Open). Notarization ships with 1.0 final.
• Some system folders need Full Disk Access for complete numbers — the app shows a lock icon and explains why.
• Scans run on demand; no scheduled cleaning yet.
